We’d like to welcome all high school girls from our area to join MBU this winter for a series of winter training sessions focused on skill development, fundamentals, instruction, and game strategy. 

Led by Jon Burke, who has developed 2 Olympic champions, 18 high school All-Americans, 8 CIF section MVPs, dozens of all-section and all-league selections, and supported more than 50 girls in achieving their goal of playing NCAA water polo, Coach Burke’s dedication to player development is unmatched. 

Coach Burke was recognized as the 2024 USA Water Polo - Pacific Zone Scholastic Coach of the Year, and was the 2017 California High School Coach of the Year, the 2016 Northern California Coach of the Year, the 2015 CCS Honor Coach, and the 2006 USA Water Polo - Central Zone Development Coach of the Year. As a head coach his teams have won 13 CIF section titles, 1 CIF NorCal title, 15 league titles, and reached the CIF NorCal finals three times.

Players that register for our winter program will receive expert instruction in a supportive and fun environment. We believe this is a great opportunity for off-season growth, an excellent way for players to bridge the high school water polo with high school swim team, and for players from different high schools to build fellowship. 

The program is intentionally designed to support players who may have high school winter sports commitments (i.e. basketball or soccer), club swimming, part-time jobs, and/or other responsibilities that may not allow them to attend all practices…we are flexible! We have also kept the cost as reasonable as possible so as to encourage broader participation. 

Dates: December 1-January 31

Practices: Tuesday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. & Saturday, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Location: Stevenson School

Capacity: 20 girls
