GRAHAM EVANS
Goalie Coach
Graham Evans has been coaching water polo in the local area since 1998. Graham grew up here and was an All-League Goalkeeper at Carmel High School. In college he pursued his other passion of lacrosse and was the Cal Poly goalie. Once returning to the Carmel, Graham started coaching water polo at Carmel High School. Noticing that the goalies were often left to themselves, Graham knew there was a need to train goalies. Graham’s passion for coaching goalies has driven him to study the position extensively. He has worked with goalies from the youth level to College. Many goalies have become All-League and CCS players under Graham’s coaching. Graham’s goalies have played at Stanford and UC Santa Barbara among many other programs. Graham coached at Carmel High for 15 years and was the assistant coach with Olympian and Silver Medalist Gary Figueroa at CSUMB. Graham is currently the assistant and goalie coach for Stevenson School as well as working with many goalies across the country through the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program, where he is a National Goalkeeper Coach. He loves traveling the country to work with goalies. Graham is also working with current Olympic Captain and Silver Medalist Jesse Smith on providing a competitive water polo program that will work with players who want to take their game to the next level.
Graham was a firefighter/paramedic for Carmel and Monterey Fire for 15 years before a back and neck injury while working forced him to retire. Graham now runs his own company Pivotal Drone Solutions. He flies drones for agricultural companies and specializes in detecting health and stress in crops. He is married and has two children, Madison 13 and Tristan 15. Madison is in 8th grade and a competitive gymnast. Tristan is a freshman in high school and plays water polo and lacrosse. His beautiful wife of 19 years is a Marketing Manager and is from Chicago.
