Jon Burke
Founder
Jon Burke is the Founder of the MBU Water Polo Foundation and serves as Director of Girls Water Polo at Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California.
With more than 25 years of coaching experience, Jon has built and led some of the most successful high school water polo programs in Northern California. His teams have won 13 CIF section championships, one CIF NorCal championship, and 15 league titles, and he has coached multiple All-Americans and section MVPs while helping many student-athletes continue their careers at the NCAA level.
At Stevenson, he has guided the program to multiple CIF section championships and a CIF NorCal championship in 2023—the first in Monterey County history—along with two additional NorCal finals appearances. He is one of the few coaches to win CIF section championships at multiple schools, including Sacred Heart Prep and Stevenson.
Jon founded MBU in 2018 with a clear purpose: to provide a positive, development-centered water polo experience for athletes in Monterey County. The program emphasizes fundamentals, game understanding, and long-term athlete development within a structured and supportive environment.
