Club Mission

Founded in 2018, the MBU Water Polo Foundation is a competitive USA Water Polo club (#34089) that offers water polo programs for boys and girls ages 7 - 18. Our mission is to provide novice to advanced level athletes an opportunity to reach their full potential as players, gain an appreciation for the sport of water polo, and build characteristics such as commitment, discipline, leadership, and responsibility. Through training and competition, athletes will progressively learn the sport of water polo in a manner that establishes a strong set of fundamentals and maximizes their contributions as members of a team.

Winter Program Description

Winter water polo runs from November 28, 2022 - January 29, 2023. Early registration opens on November 9 and closes on November 25, and late registration, which includes a $25.00 late fee, begins on November 26, and is dependent on space availability. You can access winter registration through our website.

Winter practices focus on conditioning, ball handling, passing, shooting, individual technical skills, game rules, counter-attack, and team tactics and strategies. Winter is an important time of the year as we begin building our competitive summer teams during the winter season.

Games and scrimmages are provided for all participants, regardless of ability level, and ALL athletes are encouraged to take advantage of these playing opportunities. Additionally, we will look to travel teams to the KAP7 International, February 4 - 5, 2023 in Orange County.

Athletes of all experience and ability levels are welcome to join MBU, however, at a minimum participants must be able to swim 50 yards of continuous head down front crawl with side breathing, and be able to tread water comfortably for 2 minutes.
